Project description

This latest project for NZDF comprises the construction of an Air Movements Terminal at the Ohakea Air Base, capable of processing up to 250 passengers and including MAF, Customs and Immigration processing for international flights.

Officially opened in June 2014 by the Minster of Defence, the new terminal replaces the 30 year old, 300m2 Lockwood building that has struggled to cope with increasing demands placed on it over the years, and will allow passengers and freight to be processed in the same building at a much faster pace.

With a gross floor area of 5,750m2, the terminal includes baggage carousels, a freight hall, check-in areas, a 750 person multi-function centre with kitchen facilities, arrivals and departures lounges, aircraft catering annex and office accommodation, along with associated roading and landscaping.
